NHC Family Update - Meetings Suspended through the end of April
Wednesday April 1, 2020
|Dear NHC Family,|
As we continue to watch the development of the Corona Virus and the impact of Covid-19, and as we listen to our local and national leadership, the Elders have decided to suspend services through the end of April. We will keep you updated as events continue to unfold. Thank you for your prayers and for your patience as we seek the Spirit's wisdom moving forward. We want to make you aware of some additional details as we move forward:
Contact During the Pandemic
We're doing our best to stay connected during this difficult time. You can expect for our Elders to regularly connect with you. Jon will continue to provide daily videos as a source of encouragement and as a means of updating our congregation. Please continue to look for a variety of updates through email and social media (for Facebook and Instagram, connect with us @newheightschapel). We're focusing on four themes: Encourage, Pray, Love, and Play.
Look Forward to Holy Week
Since we know we won't be together in person for Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter, know that we're preparing resources for you and your family. Be on the look-out for an Easter Box to be delivered to your doorstep this Saturday. That box will include a number of goodies, activities, and resources to prepare you for this special week in our Church Calendar.
How You Can Give
We've also made it simpler to give online through our website at newheightschapel.com. There's a giving link available on the home page, or you can mail your gifts to:
2650 St Andrews Dr,
Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
Our mailbox is secure, so if you feel more comfortable dropping your offering off at the Chapel, you can place it in the locked mailbox. We’ll check it regularly.
While things seem uncertain from a human perspective, we continue to trust in a good and sovereign God who is with us and for us. We’re confident in His will and plan for His people. Let’s continue to pray together that His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Please continue to be in prayer for our leaders, for healthcare workers, for our God to eradicate this virus, for the witness of the Church, and for all those impacted by Covid-19.
We want to continue praying for one another. If you have prayer requests, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. If they're confidential, please note that, and we'll only pass them along to the Elders.
Grace and Peace,
NHC Family Update - No Meetings Or Services through End of March
Tuesday March 17, 2020
Following the recommendation of our Nation’s leadership, we’ve decided to suspend services through the end of the month. We will re-evaluate at the end of the month and will keep you updated as things develop.
We want to stay connected as best we can. If you haven’t already, please connect through Facebook and Instagram (@newheightschapel). Expect regular communication on Social media. Also, the Elders will reach out to you personally during this time. So you can expect emails and phone calls in the next few days.
We’re planing to create ways to connect virtually, so look for opportunities to connect through social media. We’ll also add videos we include through social media here.
If you want to contribute financially, you can give through our website, or you can send your giving to NHC to our physical address. Our mailbox is secure, so if you feel more comfortable dropping your offering off at the Chapel, you can place it in the locked mailbox. We’ll check it regularly.
While things seem uncertain from a human perspective, we’re trusting in a good and sovereign God who is with us and for us. We’re confident in His will and plan for His people. Let’s continue to pray together that His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. And let’s pray that this whole situation would be an opportunity for Him to be made strong in our weakness and for the Gospel to be visible as we seek to be the Body of Christ in an anxious and confused world.
Grace and Peace,
NHC Family Update - no meetings or services 3/15, 3/18
Saturday March 14, 2020
As the Elders continue to watch events unfold with the spread of COVID-19, we've made the decision to cancel classes and services tomorrow. We will also cancel our midweek meal and classes on Wednesday.
Our initial email on Friday was followed by announcements from the President and other local agencies to avoid public gatherings, an update on more confirmed cases of COVID-19 (the majority of which are in Middle Tennessee), and the closing of Rutherford County Schools because of our County's first confirmed case.
We've made this decision seeking the good of our Church Family and Community, not out of fear. Our desire is to be wise in the way we support our Government's efforts to slow the spread of this virus in order to not overburden the health system and unnecessarily expose those at greater risk.
Be looking for further updates to come via email, Facebook, and Instagram (@newheightschapel). Please join us as we continue to prayerfully seek God's direction for next steps. And if you happen to think of someone who might not get this email, please pass along the message.
PS... We'd love for you to pray with us from your homes for God's grace for our country during tomorrow's National Day of Prayer.
